Robert Budd to focus on the 'Finance Market' for Siemon
Siemon, the network infrastructure specialist, has announced the appointment of Robert Budd as finance market manager for EMEA.
Robert will be based in the City of London, but his new role forms part of Siemon's global financial support network, which gives major institutions a co-ordinated source for expertise in the networking infrastructure. The company's financial focus includes specialists in EMEA, Asia and the Americas which bring together world-leading technical assistance and a dedicated delivery channel. Robert has been promoted from within Siemon and previously held the role of global accounts manager.
"Finance organisations are profound users of information technology. Speed, security, capacity and reliability of an IT network are crucial to operating the business successfully," explained Siemon's managing director, Steven Foster. "We want to underline our ongoing commitment to serving the finance market to support recovery and growth. Robert joins a highly skilled team that ensure our efforts are perfectly aligned to the needs of financial institutions around the world."
Robert has extensive knowledge of the telecommunications industry which he has been a part of since 1992. Prior to joining Siemon, he worked for Comtec - a managed services provider and distributor of telecom, datacom and CATV products, where he headed up the Public Network/Managed Services Business Division for 10 years.
Commenting on his new role Robert said, "I am looking forward to promoting Siemon's high performance cabling solutions into the finance market. We have recently launched a number of ground-breaking products that could give technical and density advantages to finance institutions in particular: The new intelligent infrastructure management solution (IIM) MapIT G2, for example, is perfectly positioned to address security concerns which are high on every IT manager's agenda, due to the sensitivity of data and regulatory compliance mandates."
Siemon claims that its portfolio of network cabling is specifically designed to address the needs of financial institutions. The company's category 6A Z-MAX and category 7A/TERA copper cabling systems are the highest performing on the market, capable of supporting today's applications and those that will be demanded over the next 10 to15 years.
Utilizing Siemon's cutting edge systems, Robert Budd plans to continue to deliver tangible customer benefits in form of network ROI and performance and in doing so provide global finance end users with 'real' advantage.
When not engaged in the world of financial IT, Robert enjoys a busy family life with his wife and children. His passions include rugby and cricket and as a committed father, he likes to spend his spare time getting involved with his children's interests and activities.
